A teddy bear that barks, Bichon Frise are one of the original breeds of toy dog, having been popular with royalty and sailors in centuries gone by. Cheerful and affectionate, they love to learn tricks.
Because of their fluffy hair, Bichons Frises require daily walks and grooming.
Quite hard to housetrain, as they tend to want to lead activities; and they can be quite loud.
Highly intelligent, although selective in how they respond.
Like all small dogs, they can be aggressive towards larger dogs, and should be supervised when playing with children.
Ronnie Corbett
Speedy, Silver
Capable of producing the smell of a dog twice its size.
Bichons Frises are prone to skin allergies, a problem that's exacerbated if their coats are in poor condition. If you notice your dog spending a lot of time biting or scratching at their fur, take them to a vet so they can be treated as quickly as possible.
Bichons Frises react very badly to being physically trained and can become aggressive.
